John has been an active member of Glasgow Branch for many years.  His commitment has largely been in the field of teaching and demonstrating.  His frst Branch class was in September 1995 and he has since taught classes across the entire range from beginners to technique and demonstration. He is truly dedicated, often travelling considerable distances in all weathers to ensure he is present for his pupils.

John wrote and presented a course for MCs, covering all aspects of this role with clear examples of best practice. He is regularly asked to MC at Branch events.
John has been a Director of the Society's Winter School and Deputy Director of Summer School, where he taught and encouraged dancers from all over the world.  In everything John does his preparation is meticulous and thorough and he is willing to share his knowledge with other dances and teachers.
