Branch organisation : RSCDS - Glasgow Branch is a Charity Registered in Scotland, operated by a Committee of Management elected at the yearly AGM in May.   Other non-Committee members, help: e.g. editing the Newsletter, maintaining the website.  (see  AGMs)

Documents and Policies:
Constitution and Rules: provide guidance to the Committee for the operation of Glasgow Branch.  By being a member you agree to these operating guidelines.  So please do read these documents.

For Branch Policies, members should be aware of how their information may be used.
Data Protection,  Privacy Policy  and Register of Systems Policy.    Members are required to confirm, each year that they agree to the Branch holding specific personal data, so please read.

Safeguarding   We are committed to ensuring the protection and and safety of everyone who attends our events, see  Safeguarding Policy,   Safeguarding Vunerable People.

Newsletters: Members receive 3 per year, with reports on events and details of Branch activities.

Background / History of Glasgow Branch 
The history of country dancing in Scotland can trace its roots back to the early 18th Century. By the 19th Century it was firmly part of the social dance scene along with reels, quadrilles, waltzes and old time dances. The beginning of the 20th Century saw these ‘traditional’ dances starting to fall out of fashion - being replaced with more modern dances. 
The Scottish Country Dance Society was formed in 1923 to revive these country dances and to ensure that Scottish country dancing remains part of Scotlands cultural heritage.......
