Welcome to Scottish Country Dancers - and would be Dancers

Glasgow Branch provides opportunities for Scottish Country Dancing in and around Glasgow.

April Greetings from the ‘Chair’
I am hoping that you have all received the Spring Newsletter and enjoyed reading about past events/happier times.  The photographs from the Midwinter Ball take us back.  Does that not seem to be a long time ago?  How life has changed in the interval.

We have passed the end of a first week of the official lockdown, although I suspect some of you had decided to self-isolate before then.  It looks as though we are in for the long haul, but if we all play our part we can shorten that period even by a few days, if not weeks.

Coates Crescent – EH3 7AF – has emailed all members with the first of their weekly newsletters.  Lots in there to read and watch.  If you haven’t received that newsletter please contact secretary@rscdsglasgow.org who will gladly forward it to you.

We were very lucky to be able to be part of the Glasgow Music Festival before the shutters came down.  The children put on marvellous displays in the morning.  The adult dancers from Edinburgh and Glasgow brightened up the afternoon with strong dancing and boundless energy.  On the Youth page is the full report from Susan Ewington who masterminded the highly successful day’s event. Great photographs in the  News Story on News page.  I wonder what 2021 will bring?

Lots of time to put pen to paper with a dance for the Centenary Book.  Try using cards instead of people to test out your ideas.
In the meantime, keep smiling, do look after each other and remember this situation will not last forever.
Best wishes

Come and join our dances and classes - you will be made very welcome, ' when back to normal'.
